The Client Solutions & Proposals Leader executes referral-driven client opportunities from initial introduction through discovery, solution development, proposal presentation, contracting, and transition to the planning team.
The role requires someone who can quickly understand a client's objectives, source appropriate locations, oversee proposal development, initiate budget development, guide creative development and confidently present the recommendation to the client.
Key Responsibilities
Lead initial client conversations to understand the purpose of the meeting or event, audience, objectives, expectations, budget parameters, and decision-making process.
Identify locations that align with the client's objectives, attendee profile, desired experience, logistical requirements, and budget.
Maintain momentum and ensure opportunities progress efficiently through the decision-making process.
Ensure proposals are compelling, well-positioned, accurate, and aligned with the client's priorities and budget.
Serve as the central point of coordination during the opportunity and proposal stage.
Bring the appropriate internal experts into conversations when their expertise adds value.
Lead client presentations and confidently communicate the recommended meeting or event solution.
Explain the strategy and thinking behind recommendations rather than simply presenting individual components.
Create excitement around inventive ideas while maintaining credibility regarding execution, logistics, and budget.
Review contracts, scopes of work, pricing, and commercial terms associated with proposed engagements.
Once an engagement is confirmed, provide a thorough and organized transition to the team responsible for execution.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a consultative relationship builder, strategic thinker, and strong presenter who is comfortable operating at the intersection of client relationships, creativity, hospitality, meetings, and commercial decision-making.
They should be equally comfortable leading a client discovery conversation, reviewing a proposal with an internal team, evaluating venue options, examining a contract, and standing in front of a client presenting a program concept.
This person should have:
Significant experience in meetings and events, hospitality, experiential events, destination management, or related fields.
Strong client-facing and presentation skills.
Experience developing and presenting proposals.
Strong understanding of meeting and event strategy, venues, destinations, and event logistics.
Experience reviewing contracts, scopes, and commercial terms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Understanding of budgets and profitability.
The ability to lead cross-functional teams without needing direct authority over every contributor.
A highly consultative approach to client relationships.
The ability to turn an initial client request into a more thoughtful, creative, and complete solution.
