As an Event Planner at Third Avenue Events, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and executing events to perfection. Your creative and organizational skills will be put to the test as you work closely with clients to bring their visions to life. You will handle every detail of event planning, from concept to execution, to ensure a successful and memorable event. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements, objectives, and budget.

  • Develop and present event concepts, themes, and proposals tailored to the client's needs.

  • Create detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.

  • Source, negotiate and contract with vendors, suppliers, and venues to secure the best deals and services.

  • Oversee all logistical arrangements, such as catering, decor, audio-visual equipment, transportation, and accommodations.

  • Coordinate event activities on the day of, ensuring all elements run smoothly and according to the plan.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during events.

  • Manage event budgets, monitor expenses, and provide regular financial reports to clients.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to ensure innovative and cutting-edge event solutions.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and seek opportunities for repeat business and referrals.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience in event planning or a related role; with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Creativity and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

  • Must be able to travel 35% of the time to assist with events when additional staff is needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to move, transport, position, put, install, and/or remove at least 25 lbs. of box weight.

  • Must be able to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions and distractions.

  • Must be able to stand, move, traverse, sit, stoop, kneel and/or move to position oneself to engage in all elements of event preparation and execution.
