Accounting Specialist
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
Proficient in Quickbooks & Quickbooks Online.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of bookkeeping/basic accounting practices and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
The Accounting Specialist coordinates the fiscal operation and activities of the organization. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for keeping accurate records of the company’s incoming and outgoing transactions. This position monitors the financial management of different events and gives notification of shortages or inefficiencies.
Education and Experience
High school diploma with relevant experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3-5 years of relevant experience required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is not a supervisory role.
Work Environment/Expected Hours of Work
This is an onsite, in-office position
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Duties/Responsibilities
Monitors the financial records of the organization and events.
Responsible for accurate records of the company’s incoming and outgoing transactions.
Studies costs and trends for accounting operations.
Reconciles reports for the organization and events.
Makes use of receipts to authenticate and process records of financial information, communicate with lenders, clients, and suppliers.
Responsible for daily, monthly, and yearly accounting activities projects, and annual reporting. Reviews financial information and documents on a quarterly and an annual basis.
Handles general ledger bookkeeping where necessary within QuickBooks.
Contributes to preparation of a business budget by collating and compiling information on its financial records.
Manages client accounts payment schedules, invoices and collections.
Creates and shares external accounting reports with financial institutes, insurance companies, or government agencies.
Prepares periodic financial statements and reports for internal use.
Prepare all annual federal, state and local reporting as well as maintaining corporate and employee business certifications.
Responsible for managing banking activities, deposits, wire transfers, check writing and reconciliations.
Help maintain and update financial models used for forecasting company performance, revenue, and expenses (or some other bullet point about forecasting)
Performs other related duties as assigned.
